BTEC Tech Award in Enterprise Level 1/2. The course is made up of three components: two internally assessed and one external assessment.
The BTEC Tech Award in Enterprise has been designed to help students develop their business skills through practical, skills-based learning. The course is graded from a level 1 Pass to a level 2 Distinction* (G-A* grade at GCSE).

Course aims:
Component 1:
Aim: examine different enterprises to develop knowledge and understanding of the characteristics of enterprises and the skills needed by entrepreneurs.

Students will:

Examine the characteristics of enterprises.

Explore how market research helps enterprises meet customer needs and understand competitor behaviour.

Develop transferable skills, such as research and data analysis, in order to interpret findings.
Component 2:
Aim: explore ideas, plan and pitch a micro-enterprise activity to an audience, and use feedback to review their business plan.

Students will:

Explore ideas and plan for a micro-enterprise activity.

Pitch a micro-enterprise activity.

Review pitch for a micro-enterprise activity.

Develop planning and research, presentation, communication and self-reflection skills.
Component 3:
Aim: explore the different marketing and financial methods used by enterprises and the factors that influence how enterprises identify and target their market.
Students will:

Explore how marketing is used by enterprises and the factors that influence how enterprises identify and target their market.

Complete financial documents and statements and explore how to use them to monitor and improve the performance of an enterprise in order to make decisions and recommend strategies for success.
Students are required to be self-starters and able to work to deadlines as they are required to complete assessments on time throughout both years 10 and 11. They also need to follow instructions to improve work and must take responsibility for all that they do.
